You can create a list of categories in a block by using the views module and selecting a view type of "term".

List of nodes in block

Good day.
I saw your video in youtube, and You were created list of nodes using Views module. I tried to do something similar - list of nodes (titles only) from category (taxonomy) in the block. But there was always a problem and I created block and there were full nodes (not only titles). In the basic settings I choose Row style options - Display links. What should I do to do it well? Do You have any idea?

Nodes Titles Block

Check your views settings again. Your row style should be "Fields" and then add only one field which would be "Node: Title" and select the checkbox for "Link this field to its node". You can also view the Quicktime or a better flash version of the video at http://learnbythedrop.com/drop/139.

Views

Hello Sir,
I am new to Drupal and this site is actually my head start, and now I am kind of ambitious to take on big projects, I want to create a musical lyric section for my site, where users and administrators can add lyrics based on terms like artists, album, year etc.. I would want the front page to display, something like 0-1-A-B...Z as links to list of artist with corresponding name...I think Views 2 in Drupal 6 can do this, but How do I start this...?

The first step is to get familiar with Views on a test site. I have a number of views videos available on the site here at http://learnbythedrop.com/cckandviews.

Views and Taxonomy Terms

Great site, and thanks for the videos. I watch them on the train going home from work.

I am doing a View block that spits out content associated with a taxonomy term.

However, I have a page made from Views that I want to appear in this menu as well. I don't know of a way to associate a view with a taxonomy term... and thus have no idea how to make it appear.

Do you know of a workaround for this?

Thanks so much,
Becky

One thing to add- the type of

One thing to add- the type of the block View is node- because I want the links to go to the specific node, not the taxonomy term. Thus I accomplish the taxonomy listing through a filter

I believe that the following video shows how to do what you want to do. http://learnbythedrop.com/drop/85
