More Podcasting Support

Drupal makes a great platform for publishing media, but it has also been a bit lacking in a coherent set of tools to support podcasting. I've previously explored this topic in a post called Podcasting With Drupal which I wrote in December of 2007. Please have a look at that if you are interested in using Drupal as a platform for publishing podcasts.

Things are always changing and I saw a post today that indicates more support may be on the way for podcasting with Drupal. Weblog Tools Collection has a post called  What Happened To Podpress? that includes the statement, "The next version of PodPress promises to be more customizable as in the way it looks on your blog. Mightyseek has also informed me that he plans on creating PodPress ports for Joomla and Drupal which should quickly follow the release."

PodPress is a very good plugin for WordPress and could possibly introduce a more coherent workflow for publishing audio and video podcasts using the Drupal platform.
